It appears that the access permissions for the gmap macro creator page some how got messed up. That should be all corrected now.
As for this page, the demo should work fine on it. If you are continuing to have problems please file a bug report and tell me what browser you are using.
You select whether you want to add points or a line by changing the pull down on the "click type" to either "points" or "line1", "line2" or "line3".
You then add point by just single clicking. Be careful not to move the mouse while you hold the button down as this will make the map scroll rather than add a point.
Wow, this is a pretty cool module! I think I'll try to use it on the Portland State University Cycling Club website. It looks like it will work well for showing good bike routes in portland.
Just one question - is it possible to print these maps or output a list of directions as text?
Unfortunately Printing doesn't work very well. (Just shows what the page looks like and I don't think the paths are printed in IE -- that is a googlemap limitation) You definitely can't print the directions as these are just stored as long, lat points and bear no relation to street names or anything.
to print out a map, press ALT + PRINT-SCREEN, go into Word, or Paint, or any other program that will allow you to paste clipboard contents in bitmap form. Paste the screenshot. Print.
What I want to know is about the other functionality, like when you click on a pointer, adding Text to that pointer, adding pictures to the points. I didn't see this in the 'to do' list so, James, if I can help add this functionality to your already stellar app I'd like to help out.
The version I am working on now does include the ability to insert text into a pop-up window. I haven't added it to the macro creator yet (I wasn't sure if I was going to).
