1. What type of bicycle riding do you do and how often?

Recreational, weekends, I have football knees.

2. What do you think your municipality has done well in cycling and where do you feel improvements are needed?

We've increased to 150km our bike lane system, completed the downtown cycling network, approved the Central Park to UBC cycling greenway, got bike racks on every bus and bike access to skytain and put $4 million into the capital plan which will be matched by other levels of government. Plus initiated a trial closure of lanes on Burrard bridge and increased the number of bike lock up facilities.

3. Do you feel more money should be spent on cycling programs and what do you feel the priorities for spending should be?

Yes with the priority being to get 10% of trips to be taken by bike by 2010 as part of our Olympic fitness legacy. To do this we need more dedicated bike lanes.

Advisory Committee recommends to get the cycling mode share up to 10% by improving safety and convenience of cycling.
