Vancouver has a very nice map of all of the bicycle routes of Vancouver that folds up to a credit card size. This map is widely available for free from most bike stores and many other locations. This map is highly recommended. It is also available on-line on along with a description of the bikeways at the City of Vancouver webpage.

The City of Vancouver's cycling pages have quite a bit of information about bicycle routes and plans for Vancouver.

It should also be noted that in Vancouver all new buildings built since 1995 are required to be provided with secure bicycle parking, showers for those working in the building. You can find out more details on the parking by-law.
