Bob Fearnley, City of North Vancouver, RespondsBob Fearnley is a current Council member in the City of North Vancouver and is running for re-election. 1. What type of bicycle riding do you do and how often? I don't ride a bike regularly anymore but I rode to work rain or shine when I was younger. 2. What do you think your municipality has done well in cycling and where do you feel improvements are needed? We are providing bike lanes and bike trails now are going to be providing more in the near future. We are now including bike planning in the upgrade plans for arterial roads. We also have a bicycle advisory committee in conjunction with the District of North Vancouver which reviews policy, sets priorities, and provides advocacy to Council. All being considered I think we are doing very well. 3. Do you feel more money should be spent on cycling programs and what do you feel the priorities for spending should be? We will be spending more money on cycling in the future. The goal as I see it is to establish clearly defined and easy to use bike routes that will get you safely from just about anywhere in the community to just about anywhere you need to go. |
