1. What type of bicycle riding do you do and how often?

When I lived in Ontario I only had a bike. Since moving here I have not ridden, my kids have bikes but they are just getting at the age where they can handle riding the city streets.(ages- 9,7&4)My husband and I were just discussing in the spring about getting bikes now that they are getting better at handling the gear changing to manage the hills.

2. What do you think your municipality has done well in cycling and where do you feel improvements are needed?

Adding bike lanes was a good idea, but I think we could use to make up some specific routes as a people mover to places that people like to ride, such as trails.

3. Do you feel more money should be spent on cycling programs and what do you feel the priorities for spending should be?

Since I haven't ridden since the flat lands of Ontario, I must say I'm not sure what they have offered.

I would like to see a safe riding in the City program. Let me tell you why I say this and I'm not saying it's everyone, because I would like my kids to learn to obey the rules of the road.

Today I took the Lynnvalley exit to get my daughter from preschool, when I reached the light at the end of the off ramp at Lynnvalley road to turn left my trucked decided it wanted a rest. So I called BCAA and as I sat waiting for help I was waving the poeple behind me to go ahead when the light turned green. In the half hour that I waited three poeple on bikes ignored the red light for them to cross in front of me and those three times the people coming around me on the green had to hit the brakes so they wouldn't hit the bike and rider. Believe me I think biking is wonderful I just want safety from both sides.
