Recreational biking every weekend weather permitting. My wife & I cycle about 30km using Vancouver's dedicated bike paths.

We own three bikes and ride for pleasure whenever possible.

Peter Ladner, City of Vancouver responds to Cycling Questions

The first response back was from Peter Ladner who is a current member of Vancouver City council and is running for re-election as part of the NPA party. Here is his response:

1. What type of bicycle riding do you do and how often?

I ride to work downtown or at city hall or both 5x a week. Also sporadic trips on weekends, now including some longer road rides for pleasure.

Municipal Election Questions

To gather positions of candidates in the municipal election I am e-mailing the candidates the following questions:

  1. What type of bicycle riding do you do and how often?
  2. What do you think your municipality has done well in cycling and where do you feel improvements are needed?
  3. Do you feel more money should be spent on cycling programs and what do you feel the priorities for spending should be?

So far I have concentrated on Vancouver and the North Shore.

The posters displayed at the North Vancouver Bicycle Master Plan Meeting are now available for viewing on the internet. The main page is on the Urban Systems website. The most important part is the map showing the plan that categorizes them by cost and priority.

The District and the City of North Vancouver are jointly working on an update to the North Vancouver Bicycle Master Plan. You're invited to an Open House on Tuesday, September 20 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the City of North Vancouver Hall.
